Walking the Woods
April 11, 2010
The transition of autumn into winter and winter into spring on our land is always an exciting and emotional time for me. It means another season of fun and community with family and friends. Watching the snow melt and witnessing the ice on the lake retreating is pure joy.
I decided to call this video Walking the Woods because to me it never really feels as if I am walking in the woods, but rather with it. This wooded land has been my lifelong companion, a cherished part of my childhood, and to this day my heart place and home.
Thanks Carol, Mark, Hannah my yellow lab, and Nateus, my sister Carol’s malamute. This was the last walk I took with Nateus. He was a wonderful dog…. RIP old boy.
This is my first attempt at making a movie. I wanted it to look like an old home movie so used an old film effect on a series of digital photographs. Wasn’t too successful with editing the music at the end though…oh well. Comments and advice would be most appreciated !
If this one looks good I think i might make some more. Enjoy!
Ah found the source of the music!!!!
It’s AISHA DUO
Italians Andrea Dulbecco and Luca Gusella form the eclectic marimba and vibraphone duo known as Aisha Duo (meaning “life” in Arabic). The duo project features a distinctive and intimate sound. Their debut album “Quiet Songs” (OS 502) features a transcription of eight of the “Children Songs” by Chick Corea, a selection of their own works, and other compositions. The project was recorded in a 17th Century Church in Italy and features frame drums master Glen Velez and extraordinary Italian cellist Marco Decimo.
Every attempt will take you to Good–better–and best.
Go on creating more and more videos. All the photographs are good and dog is lovely. Thanks for your upload.
It was like visiting — some very familiar sights and some new developments. I’m amazed that you figured it all out. My phone takes movies, but I haven’t even explored that function.
Yum!
The music struck me as Pink Panther-ish … suspenseful in the most delicious way
The dogs would have been in sniff-heaven! … Beautiful home-movie effect –> sigh; nostalgia! … The music complements the images perfectly — an “Ooh! What’s around the next bend?” feeling … and I’ve fallen in love w/ the music … Must hear more … Your land is exquisite … Sanctuary
P.S. I’ve just found Aisha Duo’s MySpace site … oh my!
